Economic Ties Between PH And US Continue, According To DTI Chief

The economic ties between Philippines and United States continue, according to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) chief.

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said that President Duterte’s statement means breaking too much dependence of Philippine on US but relationship between the two countries remains. Even trade and investment cooperation with America continues.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte announced that Philippines will end the military and economic ties with its longtime ally and former Colonial ruler US and will boost its ties with China during his state visit in Beijing on Thursday (October 20, 2016).

Economic Ties

Philippines would remain friends to all nations, according to President’s Cabinet official which is also a part of his delegations in his China state visit. For over the decades US is one of the country’s biggest trade and investment partners.
