Philippines: One of The Best Retirement Places in the World According to Forbes

World-renowned Forbes Magazine listed the Philippines as one of the world’s best retirement places.

In the list entitled, “20 Best Foreign Retirement Havens for 2015,” the Philippines and other foreign countries included were identified by the business magazine according to its Annual Global Retirement Index.

“Cost of living, taxes, medical care, climate, security and crime, cultural attractions and hospitality, and ease of return to the US,” are among the factors being considered for the selection.

In an article published by Philstar.com, Forbes Maganize noted that the Philippines is ideal especially for the retirees because of the beauty of the country’s “outdoor beauty”, “low-cost of living” and “English speakers”. It is also noted that what makes our country appealing to the foreigners is “untaxed foreign income”.

Tagaytay and Subic Bay are among the locations cited by the Forbes Magazine.

“Popular locations include Tagaytay, a suburb of Manila, the capital, that is elevated and therefore cooler, and Subic Bay, with an infrastructure from the old US Navy base. Non-stop flights between Manila and the US average 15 hours,” Forbes stated.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairperson Roberto Garcia responded that the recognition has “bolstered the marketing efforts of the agency in promoting the Freeport as the best retirement haven in the country.”
