The Philippine National Police is on heightened alert in the highly anticipated Duterte-Robredo Inauguration tomorrow, June 30, 2016. The PNP already activated the Task Force “Panunumpa” which aims to fully secure peace and order in line with the inauguration of President-elect Rody Duterte and Vice President-elect Leni Robredo.
In a statement released to the media by the Director General Francisco Uyami, Deputy Chief for Operations, he was quoted as saying “Tomorrow (Thursday) will be inaugration and as part of the security procedures will be implemented by the pnp task force panunumpa shall ensure safe peaceful and orderly conduct of the President and Vice President with support of AFP and government and non government agencies,” he said.
According to the PNP the Task Force Panunumpa will be headed by Director General Francisco Uyami, Deputy Chief for Operations of the Philippine National Police.
Based on the plans of “Task Force Panunumpa” the Presidential Security Group (PSG) will be in charge of the security in Malacañang while members of the PNP-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) will be the security escorts of VIPs attending these events.
For the Vice President’s inauguration at the controversial Boracay Mansion, the PNP will secure the Vice President-elect Leni Robredo. The PNP will also secure the thanksgiving party of Robredo at the Quezon City Memorial Circle which will follow the inauguration.
Robredo and Duterte will hold separate inaugural ceremonies on Thursday. Both of them had opted to be sworn in where they will be holding office.
