PNP Chief Dela Rosa Did Not Violate PH Law, Sotto Says

Sotto Defends PNP Chief Dela Rosa Over Free Trip On Las Vegas

Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III said that PNP Chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa did not violate the Philippine Law over his free trip to Las Vegas.

On Tuesday (November 15, 2016), the free trip of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dela Rosa to Las Vegas last week to watch Pacman’s fight did not violate any Philippine law, according to Senator Sotto citing the lawyer’s opinion.

Sotto said that ‘Bato’ was already abroad when he accepted the offer of Senator Manny Pacquiao to pay all expenses of Dela Rosa during their trip to Las Vegas. “The issue here is that it did not happen here but in Las Vegas,” said by Sotto quoted by Inquirer.

The PNP chief will be investigated by the Office of the Ombudsman to found out if Dela Rosa violated the Republic Act no. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
