Here is a guide on how to vote on ELECTION 2019
ELECTION 2019 – Here is a simple but useful guide on how to vote on the day of the election, especially for first-time voters.
Voters can make a list of the candidates they want to vote, prior to the time of voting to save time.
After arriving at your assigned polling precinct, introduce yourself to the precinct’s Board of Election Inspectors (BEI). Then, you must sign the Election Day Voters’ Computerized List (EDVCL).
The BEI will give you your ballot, ballot secrecy folder, and marker and proceed to the designated area for voting.
Fully shade the oblong beside the name of your chosen candidate or candidates using the marker. You can vote less than the required number in a certain position but you cannot vote more than the required number.
Voting more than the required number will invalidate your ballot.
After casting your votes, bring your ballot to Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine. Insert the short portion of the ballot into the PCOS. The machine will flash this message: “Congratulations, your vote has been registered.”
After this, return the secrecy folder and the marker to the BEI.
The precinct supervisor will cut your receipt from the machine and have the nail of your index finger marked with indelible ink.
Get your voter’s receipt and drop it in the receptacle beside the VCM provided by Comelec.
Lastly, put your thumbmark on the designated space on the EDVCL.
Vote wisely!
