VP Leni Hits Roque’s Statement Regarding COVID-19 Cases In PH

LENI ADDRESSES THE NATION – Vice President Leni Robredo hits Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s statement regarding the rising cases of COVID-19.

Recently, Roque urged the public not to worry about the exploding number of coronavirus cases in the country. He explained that even though we have reported over 83,000 cases, the mortality rate for the virus was merely around 2% with close to 2,000 deaths.

Because of this, several netizens slammed Roque for his incentive statements. In Tuesday’s press briefing, the Presidential Spokesperson made this statement:

Since then, Filipinos have asked Roque to stop downplaying the country’s health crisis. One netizen tweeted something that captures the sentiments of thousands of Filipinos “One death is already one death too many”.

Meanwhile, during Vice President Leni Robredo’s nation address, she profoundly emphasized that the deaths of the Filipino people are not just statistics.

The vice president also highlighted that the priority of the country right now should be its response against COVID-19. Furthermore, she gave a comprehensive plan detailing how to manage the dreaded coronavirus epidemic in the Philippines.
