Chiz Escudero says administration pressures LP members from joining Grace Poe.
Senator and vice presidential candidate Chiz Escudero revealed that the current administration is allegedly preventing Liberal Party members from joining the camp of his running mate Senator Grace Poe.
In an interview with press and Inquirer, former Sorsogon representative said that the Aquino administration is putting pressure on police officials.
“Kakaiba at hindi na tuwid na daan ang ginagawa ng gobyernong ito sa panggigipit sa mga opisyal. Magpalit ka lang ng konti ng kulay, salubungin mo lang kami ni Senator Grace Poe o ibang kandidato, papalitan agad ang chief of police,” he said.
Chiz Escudero also said that many government officials want to leave the LP camp, but they are threatened as the administration might file a case against them. But, he doesn’t believe that they can stop the local officials and congressman from joining whatever party they want.
However, Senator Escudero did not reveal the names of officials who were being pressured by the current administration.
Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Grace Poe earlier said that many politicians from political groups will support her, following the Supreme Court’s decision to allow her to run for the presidential seat. She added that they will express their endorsement in the coming days.
