Aiza Seguerra criticized President Noynoy Aquino on Kidapawan incident.
Former child star Aiza Seguerra slammed President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III over the Kidapawan incident that left two farmers lifeless and dozens of peasants injured early this April.
Aiza Seguerra is one of the individuals who have been actively helping the farmers of North Cotabato. He and wife Liza Diño recently raised funds for farmers who was detained after the protest in Kidapawan City.
In his Facebook page, Aiza Seguerra told the president that he should experience hunger so he will know how it feels to ask the government for help.
“Mr. President, sana po maranasan ninyo ang lahat ng dinaranas ng mga magsasakang pumunta ron para humingi ng tulong sa gobyerno mo,” he wrote.
He also criticized the Chief Executive for saying that several organizations urged the farmers to protest for help.
“Ang kapal naman po ng mukha ninyo para sabihing dahil lang sa pag-udyok ng mga organisasyon kaya naisipan ng mga magsasakang humingi ng tulong. Gutom po sila, Mr. President,” he added.
In an interview with the press and Rappler on Thursday, President Aquino defended the Philippine National Police (PNP), saying that it is their fault. He also suspected that there is a big group behind the rally.
On April 1, thousands of farmers stage a protest to ask the provincial government for food relief and subsidies amid the ongoing El Niño that affected their lands since late November.
They blocked the national Kidapawan national highway for four days after the violent dispersal of PNP occurred.
