He also called Cayetano as “Sanitizer” for covering up Duterte’s reckless statements. He also criticized Pimentel for choosing the tough-talking mayor over the administration bet Mar Roxas. Lacierda also urged them to stand up on what is right and what is true.
Reacting to the open letter, Senator Cayetano published also his lengthy response through Facebook. The Senator first thanked Lacierda for taking time to write him a letter despite being busy for campaign.
Senator Cayetano said that he made it certain that he knows Duterte well before he agreed to be his tandem, noting that he has seen how Davao City fought for corruption and he has visited his humble house. He reiterated that Duterte is not corrupt.
Furthermore, Senator Cayetano enumerated the issues faced by the current administration, including the Kidapawan incident, tanim-bala scandal, traffic, and as well as the non-passage of Freedom of Information Act and Witness Protection Act for whistle blowers who reveal corrupt politicians.
