Duterte Camp Checks Malacañang Palace For Turnover Rites

The assigned team of incoming president Rodrigo Duterte visited the Malacañang Palace, May 20, 2016, have an inspection for his inauguration on June 30.

A report on Philstar said that the spokesman of Duterte’s transition team Peter Laviña, said that they’ve met together with the representatives of the Malacañang Protocol Office (MPO).

According to Laviña, the MPO will propose certain activities and options for the incoming inauguration then present them to Duterte.

The spokesman pointed out the inauguration rites would be a simple ceremony outside the Palace as Duterte reminded him and the inaugural team that the ceremony must be simple.

“The number of invited people will be limited. It will be a simple oath-taking and maybe an inaugural speech and oath-taking of members of the Cabinet and immediately, everyone goes to work,” Laviña said as quoted in the report.

Regarding the victory of Duterte, his supporters will again occupy the Rizal Park where he did his “miting de avance” just to celebrate the winning.

A free concert will be hosted by the group called Maharlikang Balangay and they are hoping that the reported 1.3 million number of people who came during the miting de avance would be surpassed.

The said event will be stating at 5 p.m. until midnight and will be having a live stream on YouTube.

According to the group, the concert will be a tribute to the nationalism, solidarity, and the courage of Filipinos.

The event, titled “Panalo ng Pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino”, will be hosted by Arnel Ignacio.

There are also bands and performers who will be performing in the event including, Slapshock, Aiza Seguerra, Sponge Cola, and Moymoy Palaboy.

Of course, the presumptive president is invited to the event.
