Duterte Has No Tendency To Become Dictator, According To Filipino Historian

Filipino historian slammed all speculations from opposition regarding the alleged tendency of President Rodrigo Duterte to become dictator.

President Rodrigo Duterte has no tendency to become a dictator, according to a Filipino historian.

Those in the opposition have been iterating since after the 2016 election that the former Davao City Mayor is unfit to be the leader of the country because allegedly he will soon place the Philippines under his dictatorship.

Dictator, Duterte is not

On the other hand, Van Ybiernas, an established Filipino historian and professor in De La Salle University stated otherwise, based on the article published in Pinoy Trending.

He strongly believes that Duterte has no tendency to become a dictator behind all the threats of crime and terrorism in the country nowadays.

Ybiernas posted on his Facebook account his observation regarding the political situation in the Philippines.

He posted a question intended to all those who are assuming about Duterte’s dictator tendency.

The DLSU professor even cited a scene which happened in the Bible.

That was so dictatorial!

For him, the threat being imposed by the President to his enemies is automatically a form of dictatorship.

He backed his statement with another post by saying that those countries which have been handled by so-called dictators resulted to growth and development.

By saying that “substance is more important than form”, Ybiernas wanted to point out that even though that might be the perception of others, the bottom line is President Duterte is doing his job for the development of the nation, based on the article.
