Enrile Warns About Duterte’s Connection With The ‘Leftists’
Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile, cautioned incoming President Rodrigo Duterte against “sharing the same bed with the communists” as Duterte’s administration will be having connections with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
In a report by Manila Bulletin, Enrile said that the Duterte administration must “better study offering of four Cabinet posts and the general amnesty to communists as reported earlier.
“They better study that very well,” he said as quoted in the report.
Enrile said that he is not in a position to give advice to the Duterte but he, stated that the national government must act with caution in different issues.
Talking about a peace agreement with the CPP/NPA/NDF before the appointment of their members in government positions, Enrile said that this relies on the policy of Duterte. He added that the decisions must be politically inclined.
According to the report, there are already several senators that cautioned Duterte in granting amnesty to the CPP-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (NPA-NDF) and also the giving of four Cabinet posts to the communists.
And that’s why, the Senate Minority Leader warned Duterte about affiliations with the communists.
Enrile supported Vice President Jejomar Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) on his presidential bid. The UNA was formed as a coalition by Enrile, Binay and former President Joseph Estrada last 2013.
He was also the former defense minister of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Duterte may have the best intention, but he has to heed the advised of those officials who had more knowledge about this issue, let us remember the fallen military soldiers who sacrificed their life’s, leaving behind a grief stricken parents and family, it will take time to indoctrinate the leftist on how to hold positions that are vital to our country, peace talks first, I have my misgivings on appointing leftist, remember they hate the gov’t, they collect revolutionary tax just to survive and buy their guns,they lived so long isolated in the mountains, years of hiding, are they aware of the gov’t services, are they college graduates?
