Rise of Duterte in surveys is “extremely frightening” according to Leila De Lima.
Former Department of Justice secretary and senatorial candidate Leila De Lima said that the rise of tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte in presidential surveys is “extremely frightening and disturbing.”
In a live interview with Inquirer, she said that she was disturbed when she found out that Duterte is topping the surveys. “Number one siya ngayon sa mga surveys. Where is that coming from?” she asked.

In the latest Pulse Asia survey in partnership with ABS-CBN, Duterte received 32 percent of vote preference, making him as the leading candidate. Senator Grace Poe, who topped previous surveys, got only 25 percent.
De Lima also slammed Duterte over the controversial “joke” he made about the Australian Missionary. She said that there are limits and standards when making speech in public. Duterte has already apologized on Tuesday.
Furthermore, De Lima criticized again Duterte’s promise to get rid o unlawful acts and corruption in just 3 to 6 months after elected as the president, saying that he has yet to present plants on how to curb it.
“Hindi pa naman niya sinasabi sa atin kung paano talaga,” she said.
Although he admitted that ulawful acts is still one of the biggest problems of country, De Lima does not believe that Duterte can stop it using his style.
Meanwhile, Leila De Lima is running for senator under the Liberal Party whose presidential bet is Mar Roxas with running mate Leni Robredo. The local and national elections will take place this coming May 9.
i am sure duterte can’t do it for 6 month words just only to satisfy the voters and be elected . we are a democratic government that need a legislative step to make and implement a law that an attorney like duterte knows it . why is he convincing that he can make it with in 3 to 6 month . is it no a lie . the kingdom of jesus christ headed by mr. apollo quiboloy and his follower are the one who supporting him in all survey and in caravan made by duterte . . ..
He can do it, he can get rid of all corrupt employees without going through legislative process. He doesn’t have to keep those leaches and thieves in his administration. That’s just the way it is.
