Leni Robredo Open To Any Duterte Cabinet Post
Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo camp recently said that the now leading vice-presidential candidate in the partial election results is open to any Cabinet position the upcoming President Duterte would offer her.
In a report on CNN Philippines, the spokesperson of Robredo, Georgina Hernandez expressed her gratitude towards presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte for the offer to be in his Cabinet.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank presumptive President Duterte for saying that he will give Congresswoman Leni a Cabinet position should she make it. Cong Leni is open to any Cabinet position that is [suitable] for her skills,” said Hernandez as quoted in The Manila Times.
Hernandez said that Leni Robredo desires to “integrate all the government’s projects addressing poverty and to improve the lives of Filipinos.
Still, Duterte and Robredo had not talked yet regarding this issue.
The report said that the Camarines Sur Representative is still monitoring the results of the election where she is still leading in the partial and unofficial election results.
In the COMELEC Transparency Server, Robredo leads with the votes counting to 14,014,940 as of 1:45 PM, May 14, 2016. While his closest rival, Sen. Bongbong Marcos comes next with 13,798,273 votes.
Robredo is just hoping that the counting would be finished soon and for everyone to respect the results although there are cheating allegations thrown against the candidate’s camp.
Hernandez said that Robredo believes in the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and other observers that there is indeed no cheating in the voting.
