Miriam Santiago: Pollsters Removed My Name

Miriam Santiago has accused pollsters of removing her name from survey forms.

Senator and presidential hopeful Miriam Defensor-Santiago have accused pollsters of removing her name from forms distributed to respondents. She said that this is the reason why she is always at the bottom on survey results.

Santiago said that no one believes on survey anymore as it is anywhere, especially in social media sites. She added that pollsters have already removed her name, forcing the respondents to vote for other candidates.

“No one believes surveys anymore because, in the first place, it’s all over social media that my name has been removed from some of the forms used in these surveys so that respondents would be forced to vote for other candidates,” Inquirer quoted her saying.

According to the 70-year-old senator, some of the respondents who claimed to be respondents of pre-election surveys said that they have to write her name on forms so they can vote for her.

Santiago also warned the public of “mind-conditioning” by wealthy candidates and their rich supporters.

Although Santiago is consistently ranking last on surveys, she has also topped several campus polls, gaining the votes of youth.

Santiago returned to campaign trail on Wednesday in her hometown, Iloilo City where she delivered a speech to the students of University of the Philippines (UP) Visayas. On Saturday, she is scheduled to go to Saint Louis University in Baguio City on Saturday.

Miriam Defensor-Santiago, whose running mate is senator Bongbong Marcos, took a break for almost one month due to her illness. For the past month, she was not seen on television and radio interviews.
