Miriam Santiago is back on campaigning with Bongbong Marcos.
Senator and presidential candidate Miriam Santiago is back on campaign after almost a month she was not seen campaigning with his running mate Senator Bongbong Marcos. She was not also visible in radio and television interview for the past month.
According to GMA News, the 70-year-old Santiago is set to deliver a speech at the University of the Philippines (UP) Visayas, Iloilo City campus on Wednesday. She is a native of Iloilo province.
The candidates were last seen together at the Yñares Sports Center to launch Youth for Miriam Movement on February 15.
After the launching, Vice presidential bet Bongbong Marcos were seen campaigning alone in Visayas and Mindanao.
Miriam Santiago has also managed to attend forums to which she delivered speeches to the students of Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela City and University of Cebu-Banilad campus.
However, Santiago was absent at the second presidential debate conducted by Commission on Elections (Comelec) held at the University of Cebu on March 20. She said that she will have to undergo a clinical trial.
Santiago has remained on the bottom spot after several survey were released. But, the senator has not issued any statement regarding her poor ratings.
Bongbong Marcos came to defend her, saying that people should not count her out because “she is still very much in the running.” He told reporters on Monday.
