Jejomar Binay says presidential race is between him and Mar Roxas.
United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) Party standard-bearer Jejomar Binay believe that presidential race is between him and Liberal Part bet Mar Roxas despite the Bilang Pilipino SWS Mobile survey showed that they are the “least-liked” presidential candidates in this year’s elections.
Speaking to Radyo Inquirer 990AM, the former Makati City Mayor said that the presidential seat will either go to him or Mar Roxas. He noted that he and Mar Roxas has the same level of grassroots, while his other opponents senator Grace Poe and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte are only using their popularity.
Vice President Binay said that his confidence came from his allies at the local level. He is also confident that he will win the elections with four million votes.
“Sa tantya ko katulad ng tantya ko noong pagkandidato ko noon ng vice president (in 2010), at the end of the day I think ay … lalamang ako ng nasa 4 na milyon,” he said in his previous interview.
Binay said that he will win the presidential race, just like when he won in the 2010 elections, beating the former DILG Secretary Roxas. He also told his allies in the UNA Partylist that they should continue to stick with him until the end as he already predicted the victory.
Meanwhile, the recent Social Weather Systems (SWS) survey commissioned by Business World showed Rodrigo Duterte as the latest frontrunner with 27 percent, followed Grace Poe with 23 percent. Jejomar Binay is statistically tied with Mar Roxas with 20 percent and 18 percent respectively. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago came last with only 5 percent.
