Mar Roxas Responds To Duterte’s “Bayot” Tag

Mar Roxas was made to react on Rodrigo Duterte’s “bayot” statement about him.

Administration presidential bet Mar Roxas has responded to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who called him “bayot,” a Cebunao term word used to describe a person who is effeminate, during an interview with the media. This after the Liberal Party standard-bearer questioned his campaign promises.

The tough-talking Duterte has repeatedly said that he will get rid of cr*minality in just 3 to 6 months if he will be elected as the next president. Roxas said that he doesn’t believe it, describing it as “pambobola.”

Reacting to Roxas statement, Duterte said: “Wala, si Mar, bayot. Hindi niya kaya. Hindi. Kaya ko kasi lalaki ako.”

In response to Duterte, Mar Roxas said in an interview with press and ABS-CBN News  that the Mayor is always name-calling every time his campaign promises are being question. He also asked Duterte’s capability to answer more important issues.

“Alam mo, eto lang masasabi ko. Hindi ka ba nahihiya sa mga kababayan natin? Binigyan kita ng facts, datos, katotohanan. Ang iyong masasagot lang ay paninira? Name-calling?” he asked.

“Hanggang diyan na lang ba ang kakayahan mo na makipag-argue o makipag-discuss tungkol sa mahahalagang isyu na siyang bumabalot sa buhay ng ating mga kababayan?” Roxas further said.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Mar Roxas lost a key alley to Duterte in Muslim Mindanao. House of Representatives Deputy Speaker and Liberal Party stalwart Pangalian Balindong joined his former political rival Lanao Del Sur Benasing Macarambon to campaign behind Duterte for the May 9 elections.

The influential leaders in Mindanao met with the PDP-Laban bet at a Hotel in Davao. The said meeting was arranged by Davao Congressman Karlo Nograles.
