Sen Trillanes caught on video saying Mayor Duterte is not corrupt.
The video of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV where he was seen saying that Rodrigo Duterte is not corrupt goes viral. Sen Trillanes was the one who made the expose’ about the Davao City Mayor’s alleged ill-gotten wealth.
In the video, the Magdalo standard-bearer said that the tough-talking politician is not corrupt. He also gave a comment about Vice President Jejomar Binay.
“I believe si Duterte to be fair hindi naman siya corrupt. Si Binay iba to, eh. I believe he wants to be the richest man in the world at the expense of the Filipino nation,” he said.
The said interview was published by Inquirer on March 15 this year. Sen Trillanes was made to describe the three presidential candidates particularly Duterte, Binay and senator Grace Poe.
Sen Trillanes described Binay as life-long “plunderer,” saying that he will not change. It was the lawmaker who initiated the senate probe on controversial Makati City Hall Building II.
As for Duterte, the Senator said that he lacked the disciple despite the image he is supposedly portraying. He also added that he is often tardy.
He also doubted Duterte’s promise that he will get rid of unlawful acts and corruption within six months.
While he refused to choose between Binay and Duterte, Senator Trillanes believe that Duterte is not a corrupt politician.
On April, Duterte revealed that he has once asked him to be his running mate. While Senator Trillanes is running as an independent candidate, he is supporting Grace Poe’s candidacy.
