In the latest report on Facebook, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has remained the most-talked candidate for the Philippine elections on May 9, according to Facebook.

In a report by ABS-CBN, the social media giant, Facebook, shows information about the conversations about the elections wherein 20.8 million people have engaged in conversations about the Philippine elections. The conversations have resulted to about 229 million interactions.

The report has been said to cover the period of November 20, 2015, to May 2, 2016, for the Facebook users in the Philippines only. It added that the data does not say whether the conversations are positive and negative whoever the candidate is.

In the report, it can be seen that presidential candidate Rody Duterte still is the most talked candidate compared to all his rivals having more than 83% of the people engaging in conversations related to the elections all about the Davao mayor.

Then, Mar Roxas comes in the second place having 57% of mentions about him. Senator Grace Poe came in the third spot with 50%. Vice President Jejomar Binay had 33% followed by Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago with 27%.

In the vice-presidential candidates, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano led the pack having 42%. He and his presidential tandem Duterte were on the top of the discussions.

Cayetano is followed by Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo who came with 37 percent.

Senator Ferdinand Marcos was in the third place trailed by just two points having 35%. In the fourth place was Senator Francis Escudero with 28 percent. Then, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and Senator Gringo Honasan had 24% and 3% respectively.

According to Facebook, “any post or comment that contains highly specific and targeted keywords or hashtags related to either the election itself, a candidate, a party, or a specific topic that might be playing a large role in the election itself.”

It added that the percentages on the report will add more than 100% because the users may engage in conversations on more than one presidential candidate.
