Trillanes Says He will not Hinder Reforms over Duterte Win.
Duterte Win. In the impending presidency of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday said he will hinder the reform initiatives eyed under his leadership.
Trillanes said that he respect the will of the Filipino people.
“They have spoken clearly and resoundingly that they want Mayor Duterte to be our next president,” he said.
Earlier this month, the vice presidential candidate filed a plunder complaint against Duterte who he claimed maintains 11, 000 ghost employees in the Davao City government in 2014.
He alleged that Duterte also have about P2.4 billion coursed through bank accounts from 2006 to 2015.
In his earlier statement, Trillanes firmed to continue fighting for the allegations of undeclared wealth against the leading presidential candidate if he is elected.
The present results of the unofficial tally of votes showed Duterte having a biggest lead against LP Standard Bearer Mar Roxas to which Trillanes noted that he will not be a barrier to Duterte’s reforms.
“I assure the Mayor and our countrymen that I will not be a hindrance to the reform initiatives he intends to push in our government,” he said.
However added that he will continue in his advocacies as a legislator in the system of checks and balances.
Trillanes still has remaining years serving the country as a senator together with Sen. Grace Poe.
Trillanes who was seeking for the second highest position in the government already conceded defeat on Tuesday following the big leads from Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Rep. Leni Robredo.
It was not only the running candidates nor Trillanes who lambasted Duterte, earlier even Jovito Palparan criticized Duterte for his ‘fake’ bravery.
