A report on GMA News says that the Office of the Ombudsman will be filing cases against Binay since his immunity will be stripped from him.

According to the report, under the 1987 Constitution, “impeachable officials such as the President, Vice President and Ombudsman are immune from criminal lawsuits but they can be removed from office through an impeachment proceeding.”

Though Morales didn’t give a definite date but she said that the filing of charges would be anytime after June 30, Binay’s last office day.

Binay’s camp reacted on this as his spokesman Rico Quicho stated that the Ombudsman is not fair to VP Binay. He said that Morales rejected the evidences, the due process, and the law just to harass Binay. Quicho added that the Ombudsman is closing her eyes when it comes to complaints against her allies in the current administration.

But, Quicho still believes that Binay will be acquitted from the “so-called cases” filed against Binay using “legal remedies” and prove the Ombudsman wrong.

The report states that  VP Binay had included Ombudsman Morales in a P200-million damage suit over a court in Makati for an alleged prejudging of the cases filed against Binay.

Binay even said that the cases filed against him were, according to him, part of the “demolition job” plotted by the Aquino administration in connection of the Binay’s presidential bid last May 9 elections.

  1. If Binay insisted the allegations were a demolition job to prevent him being elected, what’s his exuse now that he has not been elected? He’s no longer a danger to the current administration, so what will he whimp about now? Enjoy your time in jail Binay. You know you are guilty and justice shall prevail!
