Pope lamented that refugees from war-torn countries often receive “the bitter vinegar of rejection”.
Pope Francis offered a prayer for the war-torn countries after his visit to the war refugees and religious figures in Assisi, Italy which is the hometown of the tolerance-preaching St. Francis.
His visit was intended for a day of prayers of peace, openness toward refugees and calls for religions to marginalize fundamentalism.
In a prayer service in St. Francis Basilica, he lamented that refugees from war-torn places often receive “the bitter vinegar of rejection”.
“Who listens to them? Who bothers responding to them?”, the Pope said.
“Far too often, they encounter the deafening silence of indifference, the selfishness of those annoyed at being pestered, the coldness of those who silence their cry for help with the same ease with which television channels are changed”, he added.
Since he was put into papacy, Pope Francis has decried those who turn their backs on those fleeing wars and poverty.
FRANK WILL PRAY FOR THE WAR-TORN COUNTRIES AND PLACES,INCLUDING MINDANAO? Useless, all those prayers fall on deaf ear only as in many previous pontiff’s prayers…..THOSE ARE ALL STERILE GESTURES FROM A HYPOCRITICAL OFFICE OF THE PAPACY.
