The outgoing President of the Republic of the Philippine, Pres. Aquino admitted during an interview with the media that he is proud with his achievements as the country’s chief executive particularly in eliminating corruptions in government.
With only 13 days left in office, the President said that he will leave Malacañang with his head held high as he was able to remain true to his fight against corruption. According to Pres. Aquino nobody dared to tempt him into corrupt practices because of his reputation.
President Benigno S. Aquino ran during the 2010 presidential election with a “Daang Matuwid” or straight path platform, as he emphasized that eliminating corruption is one of the main goal of his administration despite the fact that some members of the opposition questioned the legitimacy of his platform because of the “alleged selective justice” with only the oppositions were found guilty of corruption but none from the members of his party
Although the President promised to get rid of corruption in government but during his terms the alleged corruptions in various office such as the BOC, LTO, DOTC and other agencies continues which even accused some members of his family to be involved in the alleged corruption and malpractice in government.
Pres. Aquino’s opposition were not contented also of the performance of various Cabinet Members. During the recently concluded national elections, the oppositions even accused the Aquino administration of using some government properties, projects and programs to benefit the candidacy of the losing administration party’s bet, Mar Roxas who run as President but defeated by Pres. Rody Duterte.
Pres. Aquino will step down from his office in Malacanang on June 30, 2016, the same day his successor, President-elect Rodrigo “Roa” Duterte, the first President from Mindanao will take his oath of office as the country’s Chief Executive.
