Pres. Rodrigo Duterte reacts to impeachment threats.
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte was made to react to impeachment threats. He said that he is not afraid of being ousted from the country’s highest position.
During his last flag ceremony in front of Davao City Hall on Monday, the outgoing Mayor said that he will implement the rules to maintain peace and order in the country as what he promised during the election.
“Impeachment? Go ahead walang problema sa akin. I will insist what I promised to the people,” he was quoted by ABS-CBN News.
During the campaign, Duterte has vowed to eradicate corruption and unlawful acts in just 6 months.
The tough-talking Mayor said that he will imposed 10 p.m. curfew for minors and 1 a.m. liquor ban.
Duterte is expected to have wide support from the incoming congress as majority of lawmakers have vowed to support him.
Duterte will be sworn as the 16th President of the Philippines on June 30. He joined the city hall employees in his last flag ceremony as the Davao City Mayor.
The oath-taking will be held at the Malacañang’s Rizal Hall, breaking the traditional inauguration which is often held at the Quirino Grandstand.
It will be attend by around 600 guests, including the first family, prominent personalities and other officials.
The incoming chief executive will also have a separate inauguration from the Vice President-elect Leni Robredo.
