President Duterte Will Still Serve the Filipino People in the Office of Bong Go
The outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte will allegedly work in Senator Christopher Bong Go’s office after his term ends on June 30.
According to a long-time aide of Duterte, the outgoing President will continue to serve the people once his term ends. Go mentioned his former boss’s probable employment as a legal consultant in his Senate office at Vice President Sara Duterte’s inauguration on Sunday, June 19.
“Knowing the President, talagang hinahanap po ng kanyang katawan. Nasa DNA na po niya ang pagtatrabaho. Sabi ko, ‘Mr President, pwede ba kitang kunin kahit man lang legal consultant?’ Pumayag naman po siya,” Go said.
The President’s tenure is set to expire on June 30. After his term, Duterte stated that he intends to become a professor. President Duterte was also given a position in the next administration, but he has yet to respond.
The president did not say whether he intended to run for office again after his term ended. It will be remembered that he stood for Senate but withdrew his candidacy before the election.
Meanwhile, the enormous crowd that saw Vice-President-elect Sara Duterte’s inauguration ceremony in Davao City on Sunday burst into applause as she closely embraced her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, after taking her oath of office.
