Risa Hontiveros who expressed support to Rappler received unsolicited lecture from a blogger regarding the Constitution
Senator Risa Hontiveros from the Minority bloc recently expressed her side to the issue concerning the revocation of Rappler’s registration.
Previously, the Senator took to Twitter her thoughts regarding the matter along with other opposition lawmakers such as Francis Pangilinan, Bam Aquino and Leila De Lima.
According to Hontiveros, what the government did was a form of harassment and dictatorship, based on a previous report.
The revocation of Rappler’s registration is pure harassment and a clear attack on press freedom. It is also Marcosian. It’s a move straight out of the dictator’s playbook. I urge the public and all media practitioners to defend press freedom & the right to speak truth to power.

MJ Reyes, a known blogger who is supporting the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte slammed the tweet of Hontiveros, based on the report of Pinoy Trending.
The pro-Duterte blogger said that the lawmaker should not create a confusion on the recent issue about Rappler.
Furthermore, the netizen also explained the reason why the government revoked the registration of the said social news website.
Reyes even said that Hontiveros should review the Constitution because it seems that the Senator has no idea of the law, basing on her tweet.
Don’t muddle the issue. Registration was revoked not because they belong to your league but because Rappler violated the Constitution by selling control to foreign entity. You yak like you know nothing about the law. Go review our Constitution, Senator.

Isn’t that the assumption that Senators know the law? If they dont know the law how can they make laws? Its really high time to change the requirements too being a senator or congresman

We’ve all witnessed Sen. Risa is adept at interpreting Philippine laws. There’s neither rebellion nor invasion in Marawi according to the Philippine Constitution. ?
