Jullian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks wrote in one of his recent tweets that Rappler wrote the “stupidest article” he had ever read.
The said article was about the allegations linking Assange to a conspiracy theory involving him, bot and an alliance that has penetrated the Philippines.
The Wikileaks founder tweeted this, “This article in Rappler is literally the stupidest article I have ever read. The evidence of a Russian plot is that I tweeted a link TO RAPPLER.”

Assange was talking about the article which specifically discussed the alleged online trolls hired by the Russian government to spread propaganda.
Furthermore, Rappler suspected the Wikileak founder’s tweet questioning “their statement about their ownership issues was a sign that there’s a possible Russian presence in the Philippine cyber space”, based on the article published in Pinoy Trending.
That tweet made the news website conclude that it has affected the decision of Securities and Exchange Commissions to revoke their license to operate.
Due to what Assange said, several netizens who are also criticizing the social news website reacted with conformity with him.
There is one netizen who even declared that Rappler has no capability to write about bots and investigate about them. In addition, the netizen said that the claims of the social news website are not technically sound.
Rappler’s not really technically equipped or competent to write about bots, more so to investigate about them. This is not the first, they came out with a series ‘Weaponization of Internet’ with claims that aren’t technically sound or what many in the tech world would call stupid

She said that she is willing to hear the side of the Wikileaks founder if he wants to clarify anything regarding the said article, based on the article.
