Residents in 998 Landslide Prone Barangays Warned by NDRRMC

 

Residents in landslide prone barangays were warned by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday (August 15, 2016).

The local government officials warned the residents of almost 1,000 barangays that was prone to landslide can’t go back to their home yet until the area will be declared clear. Spokesperson of NDRRMC, Romina Marasigan, said that the residents should lure with a wrong point of view to go back to their houses due to fair weather.

Over 2,140 barangays have a very high possibility to have floods and the 998 barangays has declared by Marasigan as “Very high” possibility of landslide. She said that these barangays were from Cordillera Administrative region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Cagayan Valley.

She also said those barangays was recorded have the highest probability of having a landslide in 10 days in heavy rain continued. Also those families how already go back to their houses because of fair weather are warned that they must wait for the advice of council before they go back to their home.
