Richard Gomez Becomes Emotional While Expressing Gratitude to Duterte
Ormoc congressman-elect Richard Gomez becomes emotional as he expresses his gratitude toward outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte.
Gomez was overcome with emotion as he thanked Duterte just weeks before his term ended. Gomez, his wife, Ormoc mayor-elect Lucy Torres-Gomez, and their daughter Juliana travelled to Malacanang to swear in President Rodrigo Duterte for their future government positions.
Gomez praised Duterte’s administration for the work it has done to make Ormoc City safer. Gomez stated that Duterte will be remembered as one of the best presidents the Philippines has ever had.
“I was almost in tears as I thanked him realizing that he will be in office for a few more days as our leader. Thank you, PRRD. You will go down in history as one of the best Presidents this country has ever had,” Gomez said in his Instagram post.
According to Gomez, Ormoc is the “safest city,” despite the fact that it was once one of the most dangerous areas in Eastern Visayas due to the growth of illicit narcotics in the area. Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go can also be seen in the images released on social media by the newlyweds.
On June 30, President Duterte’s term will come to an end. It is unclear whether the former Davao mayor will remain in public service indefinitely.
