Roque Live Calls Globe, PLDT Bosses Requests Extra Phone Lines
ROQUE CALLS GLOBE, PLDT BOSSES – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque called the heads of the biggest telecommunication companies in the Philippines live.
During his televised briefing, Roque called Manny Pangilinan and Fernando Zobel de Ayala requesting additional phone lines for the government’s One Hospital Command. The call was made after residents complaint that they had trouble contacting the COVID-19 referral command center.
Roque put two of the biggest businessmen in the Philippines on loudspeaker in the middle of his press briefing. According to an article from ABS-CBN, the Presidential Spokesperson asked:
“Can we request Globe po for additional lines for the One Hospital Command Center?“
As a response, Zobel said that they’ll “do their best to assist” the government’s latest COVID-19 response project. Afterward, Roque asked PLDT:

Pangilinan quickly responded with a positive “Yes sir we’ll do that right away“.
As per the article, the One Hospital Command was established earlier this month as a response to hospitals being overwhelmed with increased COVID-19 cases.
Currently, Metro Manila holds the most number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines with 107 thousand infections recorded so far. Following Metro Manila was Calabarzon with 21,167 cases. Afterward, Central Visayas took the third spot with 19,115 cases of the deadly disease.
