US Warship Slammed By China For Sailing Near Paracel Islands In South China Sea

Sailing US warship near the disputed territory in the South China Sea slammed by China saying what the United States had done was a “serious illegal act”.

On Friday night (October 21, 2016), the country’s defense ministry stated that US ship enters the “Chinese territorial waters” near Paracel Islands were warned off by two Chinese naval vessels.

Paracel Island is also known Xisha in Chinese and controlled by China but also claimed by Taiwan and Vietnam. The ministry said that solemn representation was made to Washington so the entrance of US ships in China’s territorial waters is deliberately provocative and a serious illegal act.

The United States had seriously broke the International and Chinese law through their actions which seriously violated China’s sovereignty and security interests, according to the online statement of the foreign ministry.
