Senate update announces the names of the committees and chairpersons.
Senate Update – Committees and chairpersons in the senate were named after the approval during the first plenary session day, July 26, 2016.
As reported in Phil Star, after Senator Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III moved for the chairperson’s election and Senate President Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III presided the session, the 21 senate committee chairs were finally occupied.
The following is a senate update on the list of the committees and its officials:
Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments
Chair: Sen. Franklin Drilon
Vice Chairs: Sens. Leila De Lima, Francis Pangilinan
Senate Committee on Rules
Chair: Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III
Vice Chair: Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan
Senate Committee on Public Order and Drugs
Chair: Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson
Senate Committee on Education
Chair: Sen. Bam Aquino
