Senator Leila De Lima was recently facing accusations of connection with Herbert Colangco after a video and a photo went viral in social media.
The new administration has continuously pushed for its prime goal which is to clean the country from illegal drug dependent people and President Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte is very much willing to face those illegal drug users head on – even to the point of naming officials.
In fact, just recently, President Duterte named Peter Lim, Peter Co, and Herbert Colangco as the big men behind the illegal drug trade and trafficking that is existent in the Philippines.
Since the announcement of the president, Colangco’s name became even more prominent compared to the two when it was connected with the former Department of Justice Secretary and current Senator, Leila De Lima.
The issue rooted when a video during De Lima‘s party went viral and it appeared like the senator was partying with a convicted robbery gang leader.

Clearing out the issue, the senator said that it was not Herbert Colangco who was sitting beside him in the said footage.
According to Senator Leila De Lima, it was Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas who was the man in sunglasses sitting beside her during her birthday party at the Department of Justice quadrangle last year.
The representative of Quezon City also cleared out that it was him and not Colangco, “On viral video of Sen. De Lima. I would like to confirm, for the record, that I was the one seated next to Sec. De Lima during her birthday celebration last year showing in the Youtube video”.
The man further justified his reason for wearing sunglasses during that time, “I had sore eyes that time so I had to war sunglasses and could not properly shake hands with everybody. I hope this statement clarifies matters to all parties concerned and bring us closer to the truth”.
