Former beauty queen Shaila Rebortera has opened up about her past experiences, shedding light on the abuse she endured from her ex-boyfriend, Rob Gomez. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed her happiness at finally being able to speak her truth after more than a year of silence regarding the abuse she had faced.
“After over a year of being silent about the abuse, I’m happy I was able to speak my truth,” Shaila stated. The journey to finding her voice was not easy, but the moment had come for her to break free from the shackles of silence.
Shaila’s decision to share her story was triggered by the upload of photos showing bruises she had sustained due to the abuse. In a revealing revelation, she mentioned that Rob Gomez’s mother had requested an apology from her in exchange for the opportunity to continue staying with them. However, she bravely chose to leave, prioritizing her well-being and dignity.
Reflecting on the aftermath of her decision, Shaila shared, “Since that day, so many girls have reached out to tell me either about the same physical, verbal, and emotional abuse they have experienced from him or about the cheating incidents that happened all the while he was keeping our relationship and our baby ‘private’ for his career. I feel sick hearing about all these now.”
Despite her pain and struggles, Shaila expressed gratitude to those who supported her throughout this difficult period. She acknowledged the outpouring of support and especially appreciated those who reached out to remind her that she is not alone.
