A solo bettor became an instant multimillionaire after winning the Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot worth ₱331,359,271.20 during the evening draw on Saturday, May 17, 2025, according to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
The winning number combination was 30-29-42-28-02-43.
The identity and location of the lucky bettor have yet to be revealed, but the PCSO confirmed that only one ticket matched all six winning numbers, making the winner eligible to claim the full jackpot amount tax-free, as required under the TRAIN law, which mandates a 20% tax on prizes exceeding ₱10,000.
While the Grand Lotto 6/55 brought a windfall for one fortunate player, the same luck did not extend to the Lotto 6/42 draw held the same night. The 6/42 jackpot prize reached ₱53,228,564.80, but no ticket matched the winning number combination. As a result, the prize will roll over to the next draw, increasing the jackpot even further.
The PCSO reminded winners to sign the back of their winning tickets and to claim their prizes only at authorized PCSO offices. Bettors are also encouraged to be cautious and protect their tickets from damage or loss, as a tampered or unreadable ticket may lead to forfeiture of the prize.
The agency also advised the public to only participate in authorized PCSO lotto outlets and to avoid falling victim to scams or unofficial betting platforms claiming to offer PCSO games online.
The Grand Lotto 6/55 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, while Lotto 6/42 is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
