Pregnant Filipina Killed In Tragic Car Crash In Canada
On Friday (December 02, 2016), the vehicle of a 33-year-old pregnant Filipina named Maricris Baclas collided with a fire rescue tanker of Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta, Canada which causes the death of Baclas.
The accident happened around 6 am on early Friday morning RCMP tanker rushed to respond to a fire call in a rural area west of Whitecourt and Maricris was on her way to work when the accident happened.
The fire rescue tanker of RCMP and the SUV drove by the pregnant Filipina crashed at the intersection of Highway 43 and Dahl Drive. The Filipina was declared by the medical experts dead at the scene while the two firefighters were not injured in the incident.
The incident will be investigated by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety. The rescue tanker had turned its emergency lights on at the time of the car crash, according to some witnesses. The fire truck was on emergency and on their way to respond a fire call, according to Whitecourt RCMP and Sgt. Tom Kalis.
The driver of the fire truck was not yet identified for the authorities will not release his name. Whitecourt is 180 km northwest of Edmonton.
Maricris is already a permanent resident of Canada since 2015. Baclas is five months pregnant when the accident happened. $10, 000 has been raising up by Gofundme account which will be used to send her remains back to the Philippines.
