Former Camarines Sur lawmaker and incoming Vice President Leni Robredo will be holding her inauguration as Vice President with a simple rites as she stayed ture to her promise. VP Robredo takes her oath of Office as Vice President in Quezon City on June 30, 2016.
The camp of VP Leni Roberdo released the list of foods to be served during the inauguration. According to Georgina Hernandez, Robredo’s spokesperson, Robredo’s inauguration will feature a no-frills snack of native delicacies plus the favorite chocolate of VP Robredo, Choc Nut and the most interesting part of the inauguration will be absent of the VIP section.
The snacks that will prepared during the inauguration includes buchi (rice balls), sotanghon, pandesal, maja blanca, pichi-pichi and Choc Nut which will be served during the midmorning gatherng at the Quezon City Reception House, or the controversial Boracay Mansion.
During a press briefing with the media, VP Robredo’s spokesperson was quoted as saying “Our venue is small. We don’t have a list of VIPs because [Robredo] wants to ensure that the event will be simple and that the members of the basic sectors who are close to her will be there,” she said.
VP Robredo’s camp also noted that in the seating arrangements during the inauguration, they don’t have reserved seats for VIPs. So the inauguration will be really simple and meaningful and they want it to be close to the people.
The Vice President spokesman also said that the incoming Vice President would deliver a 10-minute speech in Filipino on her inauguration. After being sworn in as the country’s 14th Vice President, she said Robredo would attend a victory party with her supporters at Quezon Memorial Circle in the afternoon.
On Saturday, Robredo would also celebrate her triumph with her townmates in Naga City, Hernandez said.
