Sen. Vicente Sotto III Revealed The Distribution Of Senate Committee
Sen. Vicente Sotto III released yesterday the initial list of committee chairmanships in the Senate at the opening of 17th Congress on July 25.
He said he will be the Senate majority leader while Sen. Franklin Drilon will be the Senate President Pro-Tempore once Sen. Kiko Pimentel will be elected as Senate president.
Sotto said, as a majority leader, he will lead the senate committee on rules of the High Council.
The list of the newest committee chairmanships are Sen. Gringo Honasan, chairman of Senate defense committee; Sen. Panfilo Lacson, public order; Sen. Nancy Binay, tourism chairman; Sen. Manny Pacquiao, chairman of public works; Sen. Loren Legarda, finance committee; Sen. Win Gatchalian, local government; Sen. Sonny Angara, ways and means; Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, agriculture; Se. Risa Hontiveros, health committee; Sen. Joel Villanueva, labor committee; Sen. Leila de Lima, justice committee.
In the report published by philstar, Sen. Pimentel wants to give the leadership of the Senate blue ribbon committee to Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano if he will join the majority group while chose to remain in the minority group of Sen. Chiz Escudero.
Drilon earlier disclosed that Pimentel has 17senate supporters to be installed as Senate president in the opening session next month.
