Lipa Representative Vilma Santos-Recto was not able to attend the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte due to minor health issues.
The actress turned politician was absent during the joint session in Congress on July 23.
Based on the article published in Bandera, Ate Vi sent a message to VSSI President Jojo Lim to explain her absence in the said event.
According to the message of the Star for all Season, she had fever, cough and cold after coming back to the country from Singapore.
It was said that the weather in Singapore was hot and when Vilma Santos and her family came home, she got sick.
“Pls pakisabi sa Vilmanians na I’m sick now ubo’t sipon and may fever kaya hindi ako maka-attend ng sona, naka-ready na isusuot ko…kay reene salud at si dheng foz but unfortunately I’m sick bec of the weather here & Singapore,” the message from Vilma Santos-Recto stated.
The Representative added that it is here responsibility as a public official to hear the important message and report from the President but she needed to rest so that she can work in Congress for the rest of the week.
Ate Vi also said that see will see soon the members of the Vilmanians.
“Rest muna ako so that I can work in congress the rest of the week. I will see you all my vilmanians next week. I love you all!!!” the Congresswoman said.
Based on the article, the gown that Cong. Vilma Santos-Recto was supposed to wear was ready. Famous Pinoy designer Rene Salud made it and her makeup artist, Dheng Foz, was also on stand by for the SONA.
