Vice President Leni Robredo clarified that the money paid for her recent visit in Berlin, Germany is not from the taxpayers.
The recent visit of Vice President Leni Robredo in Germany, together with opposition members such as Senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan, gathered criticisms from several Filipinos.
One of the reasons she was criticized about was the photo circulated on social media showing that she was smiling while sitting on a grey stelae at a Holocaust Memorial.
Based on a previous article, many netizens lambast the Vice president of the Philippines along with the members of opposition for posing that way in the said photo.
For the critics, it was a sort of disrespect to all the victims of the genocide during the World War II.
Aside from that, Robredo is being criticized also for the monetary issue regarding her recent trip to Germany.
Many said that VP Leni used the money of taxpayers to pay her travel expenses to the said European country.
On the other hand, she strongly stressed out that she together with her travel buddies during that time did not use a single dime from the public fund, based on the article published in Pilipino Star Ngayon.
According to the Vice President, Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) sponsored their trip to Berlin.
“Taliwas sa mga pekeng balitang kumakalat sa internet na ginastusan umano ito ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas, walang halagang siningil sa pamahalaan,” VP Leni Robredo clarified on her official Facebook Page.
She also shared a link that will show the study tour they had with FNF.
On the official website of FNF, it was stated that the said study is based on the goal of the foundation to support leaders and decision makers through giving them platforms for sharing knowledge and to have forums with the officials of Germany as well as in other countries, based on the article.
