Classes and work in government offices are suspended on November 20, 2018 in Metro Manila
Metro Manila – Executive order No. 41 stated that classes and work in government offices are suspended on November 20, 2018.
Mayor Joseph Estrada released the news about this on his official Facebook Page. This is in line with the visit of President Xi Jinping of China on the aforementioned date.
Based on the proclamation, the Chinese President will have a state visit on November 20 and he will stay in the Philippines until November 21.
Furthermore, it was stated that the highlight of Xi’s activities in the country will be his visit in Malacanang Palace and in Rizal Park in Luneta.
The class and work suspension in government offices will be implemented based on the recommendation from Manila Police District to ensure the order when the Chinese President arrives.
Moreover, this will also assure the safety and convenience of the public during his state visit.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada signed the Executive Order No. 41 last November 16.
According to an analyst, Xi Jinping’s visit in the country is very significant.
During an interview in ANC, Dr. Aileen Baviera said that it is important for the relation of Philippines with China.
This will also announce the significant agreements between the two countries when it comes to economic and other vital aspects.
“Symbolism is very important. Showing everyone, since the top leaders can have this conversation and talk about the future of relations, then both countries, the governments, the bureaucracies, businesses and hopefully the people will step up,” she said.
