In the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII), the province of Northern Samar has also suspended classes at all levels, both public and private. The province is expected to experience heavy rains, which could lead to flooding in low-lying areas. Authorities in Northern Samar have urged residents to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions, especially in flood-prone regions.
Tropical Depression Enteng, currently situated east of the Bicol Region, is moving slowly northwestward. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has warned that the weather disturbance could bring widespread rainfall over the affected regions, with a possibility of intensified weather conditions as it progresses. PAGASA continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates on the storm’s path and intensity.
Local authorities in the mentioned regions are on high alert, coordinating with disaster response teams to ensure the safety of their communities. Evacuation plans have been set in place for areas at risk of flooding and landslides. Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and remain updated through official channels for further advisories on weather conditions and class suspensions.
The DepEd and LGUs will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional announcements if other areas decide to suspend classes as Tropical Depression Enteng affects more regions. The public is encouraged to follow updates closely, especially parents and students, to ensure safety during this time.
