Mexico Discovers Hidden Tunnel To US, Might Solve ‘Mysteries’

Mexico Discovers Hidden Tunnel To US

Mexico Discovers hidden Tunnel – Authorities from Mexico have revealed a hidden tunnel from the northwestern state of Sonora to Arizona in the United States, last Sunday, by the National Commission for Security (CNS).

In a report by Tribune, the discovery was made after Mexican police were inspecting a drainage pipe that crosses the border. The authorities then noticed something different in the surface of the concrete. They saw some kind of a material.

After the material was moved, the Mexicans then discovered a “secret excavation” of a tunnel that stretches about 1.5 meters or five feet long on the Mexican territory and also 30 meters long in the US territory.

According to the report, half of the tunnel was supported by wood beams and the other half was dirt and rocks. CNS said that it might be in the “process of constructions, without an exit on the surface.”

The authorities from both territories have assumed that the said tunnel is typically used in the illegal drug trade or by undocumented migrants.

The report added that on last April, US officials have discovered the longest tunnel so far that is used for transporting illegal drugs from Mexico.

It was an 800-meter tunnel that runs from Tijuana in the state of Baja California connecting to Otay Mesa in San Diego, California.

Meanwhile, even though Mexico is a place for world-class museums, cultural events, and archaeological sites, it is also known to the world for having enormous illegal drug trade.

According to a report by CNN, the drug trade in the country did not subside but, just “succeeded”. It is also said that this smuggling brings billions into Mexico of about $19-$29 billion from the United States.

What do you think of the hidden tunnel on the border of Mexico and the United States? Is it really used as a transportation in smuggling?
