Brandon Vera Wants To Put Philippine MMA To The Next Level

The ONE Fighting Championship heavyweight champ Brandon Vera said in a report that he plans to move to the Philippines to help the mixed martial arts be stronger. He said that he want to help by developing local talents.

This is according to an article in ABS-CBN wherein Vera said that he wants to move to the Philippines.

“I wanna move to the Philippines. I wanna be an amazing coach. Gusto ko magturo ng MMA [ I want to teach MMA],” said the Vera in an interview.

Brandon Vera won the heavyweight title in December and now, according to the report, he wanted to put up an MMA gym in the country. He has already put up one in America called the Alliance Gym.

The ONE FC heavyweight champion expressed his interest in teaching and developing the fighting skills of the locals by addressing the lessons they need to learn. He said that local fighters ‘don’t have transitions, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu. Vera said that learning these skills are the ways to “get to the next level”.

“I have all the tools, I have all the coaches, I have all of my training partners. Lahat ng kaibigan ko [all my friends], everybody said they’ll come,” said Brandon “the Truth” Vera as quoted in the article.

Brandon Vera is a Filipino-American MMA fighter who already fight in the WEC 13 Heavyweight Tournament and in the UFC. Currently, he is signed in to the ONE Fighting Championships and last December, he won the ONE Heavyweight Championship via KO.
