Donnie “Ahas” Nietes will Fight Edgar Sosa of Mexico

In September 2016 a new challenge for Filipino boxing champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes for flyweight division. The boxer is longest reigning Filipino champion.

After defending his ninth defense on WBO light-flyweight title against Raul Garcia last May, Nietes will leave the title. This coming September 24 at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California he will fight the former champion Edgar Sosa of Mexico for his flyweight debut match.

In his previous fight with Garcia he said that he is ready to leave the light flyweight division he’s hoping that Garcia will be his last opponent at 108 pounds. His manager grants his request to fight bigger names and leave the light division.

He wants to fight as much as he can for he wants one world champion at a time. Nietes want to fight other world champions for he believes that there’s no else for him in 108-pound division.
