Floyd Sr. On Son-Pacquiao Rematch: ‘There’s No Point In Doing So’

Floyd Sr. On Son-Pacquiao Rematch

Floyd Sr. On Rematch – Floyd Mayweather Sr. seems to be not interested in watching his son having a rematch with Filipino boxing icon, Manny Pacquiao, and said that there is “no point in doing so.”

During an interview with On The Ropes Boxing, Floyd S. said that he didn’t like what he heard from Pacquiao’s injured arm during the ‘richest boxing fight’ against his son.

According to him, Pacquiao is telling lies.

“If I was my son, I wouldn’t even give him another fight because he said lies about how my son won the fight,” said Floyd Sr. as quoted by PhilStar.

Floyd Sr. insisted that there’s nothing wrong with his arm and that his son clearly beat him during the “Battle for Greatness” as everyone have seen.

“Talking about his arm, something wrong with arm, weren’t nothing wrong with his arm. Floyd clearly beat him, everybody saw that and everybody knows that,” he said.

Floyd Sr. added that the Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 has no point, as the “result would likely be the same.”

“If they fight again, his [Pacquiao’s] arm gonna be hurt again, OK,” Floyd Sr. said. He refers to Pacquiao’s right shoulder which he said, was injured while training for the fight against Floyd Jr.

Floyd Jr. is still retired after a flawless boxing record.

Meanwhile, the Filipino boxing icon and now Senator Manny Pacquaio, who has retired last April, is currently training for his comeback fight against the WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on November 5.

Pacquiao earlier said that the reason for his retirement is because he will be concentrating on his political career and will give more time for his family.

Reports have said that Pacquiao is training in the morning before going to the office, and then goes straight to the gym to train after Senate works.
