The tune up game was for the preparations for the incoming Olympic Basketball Qualifiers in Manila. The Philippine National Basketball Team, Gilas Pilipinas is going to face world heavyweights like Canada, Franca, and New Zealand.

Although the Iranians didn’t have Hammed Haddadi in their line-up, there are still taller players who have challenged the Gilas.

As the Gilas team looked out-played in the defensive department due to the undeniable height differential with foreign players last year, the naturalized player Andray Blatche came up strong in their clash with Iran.

A new Gilas member, NBACL Texas Legends member, and former UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks have really sparked in the game showcasing his improved basketball skills.

Other team members like Jappeth Aguilar and Junmar Fajardo stood on their roles at the floor giving baskets and played in the defense.

Other team members have also done their part for the win.

During the game, Andray Blatche and Iran’s Ashgar Kardoust (7-feet tall) had exchanged words and had a bit of shoving on the floor.

The effort of the Gilas Pilipinas paid off as the game ended with 81-70 in the final buzzer.
