After winning in an outstanding performance against Timothy Bradley last Sunday (Manila time), Manny Pacquiao arrives in Manila, yesterday, April 14.
The one and only eight-division world boxing champion was given a hero’s welcome at the Manila International Airport around 5 o’clock in the morning.
Then, he was taken in a motorcade around the city where people have been waving their hands as their idol passes by.
The motorcade then stopped at Novotel Hotel at the Araneta Center.
Numbers of fans and media greeted the Filipino boxing icon in the airport congratulating him of the win.
Manny Pacquiao won via a unanimous decision having all the three judges score 116-110 in favor of the Pacman.
Manny Pacquiao already said on previous reports that the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 is the last fight of his 21-year career. He obtained a record of 58 wins, 6 losses, 2 draws, including 38 wins via knockout. The Pacman said that he’ll be focusing on his family and his political career.
He also holds 8 world titles in as many different weight classes. Also, with 3 Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Fighter of the Year awards and honored as the Fighter of the Decade for the 2000s.
Pacquiao is a two-term congressman of Saranggani province that’s now running for the senatorial race in the Philippines.
According to Boxing Scene, Manny earned about $500 million through his colorful career.
“Thank you to all the fans in boxing, especially the Filipino people. I’ve really appreciated all your help and support,” said Pacquiao as quoted by Boxing Scene.
