Mayweather Charged On $1.4M Jewelry Debt

Mayweather charged – American boxing champion Floy Mayweather Jr. was charged with deceiving a jewelry company in Las Vegas for a $1.4 million-diamond-encrusted necklace he bought on the weekend after his last fight as a boxer.

According to a report by PhilStar, the complaint filed in Nevada state court, the said company, The Jewelers Inc. said that Mayweather paid $1 million when he purchased the $3 million necklace last September 2015.

The necklace composes of 72 round-cut diamonds wherein each diamond was about 3 carats. The report added that the boxer made six subsequent $100,000 payments.

The report added that the filings alleges Mayweather didn’t make any payment since May and was charged with ‘breach of agreement and unjust enrichment.’

According to the said report, it was still not clear if the American boxer or even his legal representatives had been served with the civil lawsuit filed in Las Vegas.

The retired undefeated boxing champion was listed by Forbes magazine as the highest-paid athlete in the world for 2012, 2014, and 2015.

On the so-called “Fight of the Century”, wherein Mayweather faced the eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao last May 2015, his earning has been estimated to be about $220 million.
